Professor Hua Sun, Ph.D., is a leading expert in chemical engineering at the College of Chemical Engineering, Hebei University of Science and Technology, where he also serves as Director of the Academic Committee. Recognized as a National Outstanding Teacher and a Hebei Provincial Famous Teacher, his academic career is distinguished by sustained contributions to both research excellence and engineering education. Dr. Sun’s research focuses on industrial crystallization and process intensification, alongside pharmaceutical separation and purification technologies. He has led more than ten provincial- and ministerial-level research projects, including the prestigious Key Program of the Natural Science Foundation of Hebei Province. His work emphasizes the control and design of crystal forms to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and industrial scalability. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact international journals such as Chemical Engineering Science, Separation and Purification Technology, Journal of Membrane Science, and Crystal Growth & Design. In addition to his academic output, Dr. Sun holds 17 authorized Chinese invention patents, one utility model patent, and one PCT international invention patent, reflecting his strong commitment to innovation and technology transfer. Importantly, many technologies developed by Dr. Sun ranging from advanced pharmaceutical crystallization processes to new pesticide crystal forms and fine chemical manufacturing have been successfully implemented in industrial production. He also actively contributes to industry development through committee roles in the Hebei Fine Chemical Industry Association and the Hebei Biomanufacturing Alliance.
