Professor Tsotinis is a distinguished researcher in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry with a strong focus on the development of novel synthetic methodologies and bioactive molecular frameworks. His research is dedicated to the design, synthesis, and optimization of organic compounds with diverse pharmacological activities, including antineoplastic, antiviral, antibacterial, antitubercular, trypanocidal, and central nervous system (CNS) applications. A significant component of his work involves the structural modification of bioactive natural products, such as melatonin and its derivatives, to enhance therapeutic efficacy and selectivity. Drawing on experience from both academic and industrial research environments, his studies effectively bridge fundamental organic synthesis and applied pharmaceutical chemistry.
