Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şenay Balbay is a chemical and environmental engineer specializing in green and environmental chemistry, with a strong focus on sustainable material development and waste valorization. Her research integrates green synthesis, circular economy principles, and life cycle assessment to minimize environmental impacts of industrial processes. She has developed innovative carbon-based materials, green composite sound insulation systems, and energy storage materials derived from industrial and agricultural wastes. Her work also addresses water treatment, noise pollution reduction, and environmentally friendly coatings. Through nationally funded projects, an international patent, and industry collaborations, she advances scalable, low-energy, and low-emission technologies for sustainable environmental applications.
